Summer Sandlot

Summer Sandlot was a program created in 2010 as an opportunity for kids to continue to stay active during the summer months by playing the great game of softball. The program has now grown four times in size and has become a great outlet for meeting new friends, playing new positions on the field or trying a new sport for the very first time.

Here are a few other things about the program:

  • Every Tuesday night for 5 consecutive weeks, starting June 25 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. 
  • Participants are divided up randomly each week to form “teams”
  • All players hit off of a pitching machine (there is no pitching)
  • Everybody bats, every inning
  • Defensive positions rotate. Play where you want!
  • No scoreboards, no umpires and very little coaching.
  • All participants get a T-Shirt! (Please double-check sizes when registering)
  • Three age-groups
    • 08U (2014-2015)
    • 10U (2012-2013)
    • 12U/14U (2008-2011)  *CLOSED 100% full*

Registration is just $35 per player. 

We will be utilizing 4 fields, with a field dedicated to each age-group. This opportunity is open to girls of any skill level. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before, as this is the perfect opportunity to try out a new sport in a fun, pressure-free environment.

Space is limited to 120 participants so do not hesitate to register!

We are excited to offer our Summer Softball League this year for teams that want to keep playing between the Spring and Fall recreational seasons.

Details about the program:

  • The season will run for 4 weeks, from June 26 - July 26, taking off the week of July 1 for the Independence Day holiday
    • Double Headers (total of 8 games)
  • Games will be played on Wednesday and/or Thursday nights at Allen Station Softball Park
    • Day depends on # of teams and age divisions
  • Team fee of $1140
    • Max roster size is 12 players
    • No draft/open roster players.
  • Head Coach registers team and pays team fee
    • Each player registers individually to be placed on roster after team fee is paid and team is registered
  • Rules available HERE
  • League will follow Rec Advanced Rules
  • Rings for 1st and 2nd place by standings (no playoffs)
  • To ensure that the summer league remains competitive for all participants, teams will be reviewed prior to being admitted for participation.

 

COACH TEAM REGISTRATION

Coaches must register and pay for the team prior to any players signing up. Once the team is registered/paid, a team code will be sent to the coach so the players can register directly to the team. 

PLAYER/ ASSISTANT COACH REGISTRATION

All players must be on a pre-formed team. There are no draft/open roster players for the Summer League. Players will be sent a team code by the head coach once the team has been registered/paid in the system so they can register directly to the team roster with no fee.
